ok so we arrived in london friday morning, we saw we will rock you - kicked butt as always
saturday, there was shopping. bad idea, cos it was manically busy - not fun.
saturady night was evita - very cool, seeing as i didn't know it (shock! horror! i show i didn't know!), and even though we were late and missed the first 10 minutes, i still enjoyed it.
SUNDAY - big day - we went and had lunch with an old friend of dad's and his family, which was nice, we haven't seen them in 12 years or something ridiculous like that - we then went to see more family friends, which was really lovely, they are some of my favourite people, and mum's god-daughter was there with her little baby girl, who is seriously a miracle child, cos she's just turned 2, but she was born 16 weeks early, so she's been in and out of hospital her whole life, but she's walking around now and starting to talk, and she's so gorgeous and smart and happy, it was really wonderful to see her out of hospital and doing so well! that was a really long sentence.
monday we all split off and did our own thing, i met up with my friend Mark from RADA (yet another one) which was AWESOME, how i love that boy! we just sat in a pub for a couple of hours and talked about EVERYTHING, tv, shows, acting, god, relationships (he's engaged), family, shoes, everything! and then on the way out we encountered a very interesting french drag queen who was hopelessly lost!
monday night. oh my. now if you've been following along with my blogs you'l already know that i love Wicked. it is my favourite show ever. and i saw it for the 3rd time on monday night, except this time it had Idina Menzel in it, who played the original lead in it, and won the tony for it, she was in the original cast of rent, and basically i love her to pieces. to see her live on stage just blew me away. it made the whole trip.
i'm just going to take a minute to contemplate the amazing-ness of idina. feel free to join me.
ahh.
OK so this morning (tuesday) me and mum hit even More shops, then met em and dad at one of our favourite restaurants here, it's a little italian place called Sale e Pepe, and it's just gorgeous, all the staff are so eccentric, always singing and dropping things and yelling at each other at italian, and the food is just so so so good. i'm stuffed.
i am currently sitting alone in the hotel while the others continue to shop, then we're having a lazy afternoon before going to see Spamalot tonight - it's the musical based on the Monty Python movie 'the Holy Grail', and me and dad saw it last year in new york, and i'm excited.
anywho, off i run - we're driving up to Glasgow tomorrow, so who knows when the next update shall be!

whoops, a whole week went by...
how did that happen? OK so when i last left you it was saturday afternoon - my parents arrived in New York on Saturday night, and we had a lazy night in - delightful!
On Sunday afternoon we went to a matinee of Wicked - ahhhhmazing of course! it was the first time my mum and sister had seen it (me and dad saw it last year), and they loved it, so they can stay in the family - *phew* - Anna Gasteyer (from SNL and the mum from Mean Girls) was playing the lead, and she rocked.
Seeing as the theatre is closed on Mondays (oh no!) we spent the day shopping (and i MEAN shopping. Saks fifth avenue, bloomingdales, lord and taylor, gap and then some!) and relaxing (very pleasant) and shopping again. Surprise surprise, my family bought luggage. honestly, you'd think we'd have enough!!
On Tuesday Emma caught up with J-Man and got to play with the kids - i'm sure she shall update her blog with pics and fun stories about the Boy and Girl (there's a fun nickname, but i ain't gonna put it on the net!), while me and my parents...continued shopping. we went to Macy's, biggest store EVER. quite exhausting really.
Tuesday night we saw a brand new show called The Drowsy Chaperone which was sooo funny - i absolutely adored it - plus it had one of my fave people in it - sutton, you are awesome.
After the show i FINALLY caught up with my friend Luc, who i was at RADA with - he's at college in the city, and we'd had a hard time acutally managing to meet up, so it was a late night cup of hot chocolate and MASSIVE piece of cheesecake for me! but it was super to catch up!
Wednesday was a quick dash around in the morning to the Empire State Buliding - we picked a great day for it, the sky was so clear But it was super super windy up there! Once we were down we dashed back uptown to pick up a few presents for people we're visiting in the UK (We stopped at Tiffany's, which was divine - they have the trademark blue box adorning the entrance, white ribbon and all!). Once we'd finished there we raced off to a matinee - "Tarzan" - mum emma and i waited outside the theatre for dad to arrive so we could pick up the tickets, and seeing as we were early we pottered around in the lobby for a while...but hang on...i heard applause? quick check of the tickets...yep...we seemed to pick the on matinee in town that started at 2pm instead of 3! so we'd missed the first half hour, but the rest of the show was pretty good! very disney - more of a spectacle "ooohhh look at that show" than an actual musical, but the majority of the music is by Phil Collins who we all love, so we enjoyed ourselves regardless!
Following that, emma and i wandered around times square for an hour or so, buying tacky souvenir things (NB to all those who are aware of emma's things with monkeys - i actually found her a mug that says "Don't Make Me Get The Flying Monkeys!" as well as a Wicked Witch Fake ID!), then we had dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner - v. entertaining - it's a 50s style diner with Singing Waitstaff - ohhh boy.
Wednesday was our last Broadway musical - The Wedding Singer! if you enjoyed the movie you'll like this! very crazy 80s costumes, a little tribute to Flashdance, a group of celebrity impersonators including tina turner and cyndi lauper, and even Adam Sandler's song "Somebody Kill Me Please!".
On Thursday Emma and I went to central park zoo (i was disappointed to find no Egotistical Lion, Neurotic Giraffe, Confused Zebra or Hippo wit Attitude, but there were some cute snow monkeys!) and were nearly run over by all the kids on school field trips (urgghhh...)
...
and now we're in London! The day we arrived we slept quite a bit, stocked up on Marks and Spencers food (soooooo goooooood), then went and saw We Will Rock You - always fun! Today we all went our seperate ways, i wandered up and down oxford st in an attempt to do some shopping, but seeing as it was a Saturday it was soo soo busy i couldn't stand it for long! We just came back from seeing Evita - finally a show that everyone else knew more than me!
Tomorrow we'll be catching up with various family friends, then on Monday we're actually seeing Wicked with Idina Menzel...oh my word...expect an adoring blog...i love her...
sorry it's so long! if you made it all the way down here you must really like me! as for the rest of you...well you're not reading down this far anyway, so i can say what i like!
pikers.
There will be pictures soon, i'm on my dad's laptop, and don't want to download all my pics onto here.
let me know whats going on at home!

More Photos, More Stories!
SO, 2 days to catch up on - i'll try to keep it short!
Yesterday we went on a tv and film tour of manhattan - AWESOME! we spent 3 and a half hours on a bus and went all over the city, we saw some famous people's places (al pacino, bruce willis, janet jackson, sjp and matthew broderick to name a few) we went to the huxtable house (the cosby show) OH OH My Favourite:
Recognise this?
It's the Friends building!! soo exciting. we saw some will and grace locations too, and me and emma won a whole stash of lollipops cos we could answer all the trivia questions! we apparently have no lives. haha!
OH and this place was cool too - it's called Rice To Riches, it's featured in the movie Hitch, and it's the only gourmet rice pudding place in the WORLD - i wasn't too sure about the whole rice pudding thing, but i tried the choc-hazelnut, and as our tour guide kimberley put it - "she's a believer now!!"

Last night was Rent - disappointingly mediocre, but still, it's Rent, so i'll always be glad i saw it!
TODAY - we got off to a late start and had a mad rush to make it, BUT WE HAD THE BEST MORNING EVER!!! (or at least i did)
we went to "Behind the Emerald Curtain". Now if any of you know me at ALL, you will know that Wicked is my favourite show ever - this morning's event was a behind the scenes look at the show. I Loved It. Bliss. Absolutely.

Me with current cast member Anthony Gelde (swing) and former cast member Sean McCourt (Frex, Dr Dillamond, Wizard u/s)
After a superb morning, we ambled down Broadway for a while, had a MASSIVE lunch at Hard Rock Cafe:
cool...
and now we're back at the hotel nursing our very sore feet!
Mum and Dad arrive tonight, tomorrow we're going to Justin's church, then who knows!!
love to all (except you...you know who you are...heh heh heh...)

hellooooo jetlag...
this morning em made me get up at 7am. urgh. all so we could head way downtown and get to Century 21 (new york's best kept secret) before the crowds hit. there were no crowds, but there were things to be bought!
early morning shopping is fun, yet lethal.

we spent most of the day walking back uptown (a heck of a walk - about 110 blocks!!!) but it was entertaining none the less - like the geeks we are we went to the shiny new Mac store - funky glass box with a red apple in it - very cool

after we finally made it back to the hotel and crashing for a bit, we went off on another escapade to visit my friend Luc from RADA - he lives on the other side of central park, and it should've been a fairly simple walk, but we... took a scenic route...

we FINALLY made it there, only to discover that he wasn't even home (Grr! Argh!!) so we sulked our way down to times square to find a quick dinner (macca's, urgh) before going to see avenue q. which is pure brilliance. and funny as. oh my.

and thus concludes the evening! the jetlag kicked in during the 2nd act, so we were both pretty knackered by the time we got back to the hotel...and now i must crash into bed before i pass out on my laptop...
night all!

New York, New York, it's a wonderful town...

now i'm in new york and i have no idea what time it is, but i know it's wednesday night. but at home it's thursday morning.
so i actually travelled back in time.
pretty cool.
so far new york kicks some tooshie, we've only gone and gotten groceries so far, but still, they're new york groceries.
emma is trying to talk me into watching the sequel to the emperor's new groove.
oh dear.
tomorrow i think we're hitting some discount department stores, hopefully i'm meeting up with luc, then we're seeing avenue q tomorrow night - hoorah!!
hopefully the jet lag won't hit me too hard.
